Week 10 BOC/EOC : Les Paul

Lester William Polsfuss was the grandfather of rock and roll by being the first to invent the fully functional electric guitar. He love to play Country and Jazz, as well as write songs. He was innovative with his style of playing by first coming forth with licks, trills, chording and fretting, which is use to this very day. Les Paul goes down in history being known as the “architect” of Rock and Roll by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Week 6 EOC: Top 3 Consumer Products

There are many top products to buy from many leading suppliers today. Some of the leading products that we know of are for hygiene. For example we all use shampoo, toothpaste and deodorant. The products that I buy for instance, the shampoo that I get is, “Head and Shoulders.” The deodorant that I buy is “Right Guard.” And finally the toothpaste that I buy is “Ultra Bright.” You can buy all of these at Wal-Mart, CVS or even Food for Less. To save money I buy from, “Food for Less” which is the marketing plan that they use. Buying things for less money is what most customers want, if a customer has to pay more they might not like it and move on to a different supplier. "Your most unhappy customers are your greatest source of learning."- Bill Gates. Learning your customer’s wants and needs is priority for any company to be successful.

Week 5 EOC: Sony Sleuths- Marketing Prospective

The sleuths that performed the hack on Sony’s Gaming network, as well as their online network, would have to have possession to top of the line equipment to pull off the heist. Sony is one of the biggest corporations in the world with the best security systems in place. This would have to mean, some of the best people on the planet were needed to come together, to make this happen successfully. Now if we think about it, who would have access to all these resources, and why would they do such a thing. A quote from E3 Gamer states, “We think the 360 has lost significant momentum to both the Wii and PS3, especially in Europe, and is in need of both a price cut and new features to bring in mainstream gamers beyond the Halo/Call of Duty/GTA crowd. Hopefully, Microsoft will have something else up its sleeve [at E3], such as a new motion-enabled controller (to better compete with the Wii).” Microsoft has lost millions to the Japanese market due to online gaming. The annual charge of $50 for online gaming with the Xbox network is a bit much to swallow, opposed to PS3’s free cost to online gamers. SO knowing this I feel that Microsoft’s only competition had to be slowed down or even stopped for Xbox to prosper. Why hasn’t the Xbox network been hacked? Strange don’t you think? Microsoft, I feel employed people to hack the Sony network or they paid off someone that works inside the Japanese team to gain access to their customers most valued information. Not in an attempt to gain money but to shut down the system. Because as of yet no one’s accounts have been affected by the attack.

Week 4 EOC: Theres an App for that!

This day and age the smart phones have apps for everything you can possibly think of, or have they. There are still many ideas left to make millions of dollars off of. The most popular apps use to be games for entertainment, but now we have apps that help you with your everyday activities like preordering tickets for a movie or seats at your favorite restaurant. On the other hand most of these apps you are not really going to use; doing things the old fashioned way is sometimes easier. But what if they made apps that were actually very useful for instance, a Mile per Gallon App. This app would keep a log of which different types of gas you purchased, notifies you which gas company gives you the better bang for your buck. Plus a special feature to let you know when you are in proximity of a gas station that has the best deal for gas prices. There can even be an app that notifies you when there is an emergency on the freeway that you are traveling on, such as an accident or a police chase coming your way. This app might pique the interest for the parents out there. Let’s say you go to your local Cell phone provider and order a family plan with you and your children, if they are under the age of 18 and living within the household, there will be an optional app that allows parents to receive a notification if their child leaves the house, or returns. An additional feature of this app would be if the parent suspects the child is in trouble then there will be an emergency location button. This will allow you to locate you child in seconds and can report the location to authorities if needed.

Week 3 EOC: Charitable Companies

According to the Forbes website there are many different companies that are contributing large amounts of money to different organizations. Some of these companies that are on the top of the Forbes list are Wal-Mart, Target, and Coca-Cola. Wal-Mart alone donated 197 million dollars in 2004. Target followed behind in 2004 with 88.8 million dollars. And Coca-Cola donated 67.2 million dollars. There was another company that tops them all, “Pfizer would rank No. 1, with more than $1.2 billion of cash and in-kind donations, or 21% of its 2003 earnings. That is the first time a company topped the $1 billion mark in the 11 years the Chronicle has been keeping track.” As said in the Forbes website.  There are many companies that donate funds as well as tangible items such as clothes and food. A lot of this money is dispersed to different research companies as well as victims of weather catastrophes.

Week 2 EOC: "Boston Consulting Group" - Video Games

The video game market has its ups and downs, especially in the first person shooter line of games. Before Call of Duty was king of the PC and Console market, there was Battlefield 2. This game allows you to shoot, swim and paratroop. But unlike most shooters you can drive jeeps, tanks, military transports as well as fly jets and choppers. This was revolutionary for its time; to have this much freedom was a dream. Call of Duty’s gaming changed the format to first person shooter by just running and shooting in smaller environments, which is the sacrifice for realistic looking detail. "The Best-Looking First Person Shooter to Date." DESTROCTOID Battlefield 3 game Trailer. There have been some new releases of Battlefield since 2005's version, but they lacked many different vehicles. Judging from the videos of gameplay, they have incorporated tanks and fighter jets for returning fans. G4TV.com says, "Battlefield 3 will be a watershed moment.” With DiCE’s new 3D processing engine, it is now possible to enjoy high detail with the vast maps and vehicles. JOYSTIQ says "Battlefield 3 is Unnerving Beautiful." You will be utterly insane if you do not pick up a copy this fall.

Week 2 EOC: Customer Service

Hey my name is Sean and I’m a local out here in Vegas and I seen a lot of people pay Vegas sites to hook them up with a great deal to go out and get tables and line passes at one club which is not always the best way to go. Many times I come across people who spent a lot more money than they thought because of hidden table fees for the hostess for your table.  And Extra $200 bucks added to you bill is never good when you didn’t know it was coming. What I feel is that more people need to know about Local drink spots that are fun to hang out that none locals will have a good time. Most none locals are not going to come all the way to Vegas to drink at a pub or sports bar.  There are many spots you can drink for free in Vegas and still have a good time. I am doing this for a school project but I will try to keep it updated for all you none locals out there. One of my best experiences is at Vanity inside Hard Rock Hotel. There is a good friend of mine that works there, and always hooks me up with drink, only because he remembers me and my friends. There is one catch though you have to have the ladies with you for most of these nights to get free drinks.  Find a local friend and bring them along for the night for drinks. So come and get free drinks for in the hot spots of Vegas.

Week 1 ECO: My Voice

Memories have started going through my head about friendly we as a people use to be. Now people are generally less friendly amongst the others, which is very alarming. It almost seems that people are threaten by other or poses less positive energy. We don’t seem to care for others in time of emergency. Not too many years ago family, friends, and neighbors would relax with each other outside their homes. Sometimes I wonder if it is because of TV, that people don’t trust each other. Most of our TV shows are so violent and untrustworthy; as if it’s slowly teaching us not to trust anyone. Corporate companies are trying to pass laws to not allow children to play outside their apartments, only because the children might get hit by passing cars. I feel corporate America has gotten smart over the years, by slowly taking away our privacy and our rights seemingly right from under our noses. But American people seem not to even care anymore, because it’s too much to think about or just laziness. We need to come together as a country once again, without falling prey to the thieves in the night.  Our rights need to be returned from the tyrants cloaked in Democracy. Our communities need take time to care and love each other, and stop letting corporate America divide and conquer its own people.
